Recently there is an increasing number of cataract surgery using advanced intraocular lenses such as a toric intraocular lens (TIOL). Though each lens company offers its web toric calculator, it does not estimate the posterior corneal astigmatism and has not brought preferable outcomes. Furthermore, though the approximate posterior corneal astigmatism has been reported as 0.3D, the modern Wavefront analyzer KR-1WR (Topcon Medical System, Inc.)detected the ocular inner astigmatism of 0.582D was more accurate and a new TIOL calculation (NewC) was formulated with it. Cataract surgery was performed by using NewC on 207 eyes and 179 eyes (86.4%) gained 1.0 or higher uncorrected visual acuity. Now due to the improvement of medical equipment it is not difficult to predict postoperative visual acuity by making a precise examination before the surgery. It is possible to make an order-made cataract surgery with a lens suitable for each person’s lifestyle.
